Overseas/Non-resident borrowers


Non-Residents:

A non-resident is a foreign national whose presence in Australia is subject to a visa limitation. A non-resident does not include an Australian living overseas.

Non-residents can also acquire brand new dwellings for investment purposes.

Foreign Investors:

A foreign/overseas investor is an overseas investor who is buying a residential real estate in Australia for investment purposes. Foreign investors can only acquire brand new dwellings.

Application to purchase residential real estate by non-residents must be approved by the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).
